I had just gone to my Lego Build-A-Thon Robocup nationals, and since then so many people have asked me what is Build-A-Thon ? I want to answer this question today in this blog of mine.
Build-A-Thon is a project on technology which includes building and programming. A team usually of 2-5 children build their own robots and do the programming (if needed) all by themselves and complete the specific task.
Now I want to share my experience with everyone in Goa.
Our journey to the nationals !
Our team consisted of three members, I, Soham and Aarvie. First We all had gone for the state level of Build-A-Thon in which we stood first. It was very tough to get where we reached, we learnt so much and made so many mistakes, we even cried between the competition. We all had a wonderful time at the state level and were too ecstatic knowing that we are selected for the national level to be held in Goa, on the 18th and 19th January 2018.
Finally it was time for the nationals and we were all set. My grandparents accompanied me to Goa. On the first day we had the practice round in which our bot worked perfectly and we were very confident. The next day we did pretty well and were satisfied with the performance of our bot. We were eagerly waiting for our result. When the prize distribution started the chief minister of Goa, Mr. Manohar Parrikar came to give us the awards and to our surprise we got the prize for the best teamwork and we were qualified for the inter-nationals which will be held in Singapore.
This is the first time we will be going to the inter-nationals of any competition. I want to thank all my teachers specially Abhinav sir for taking us to this height. We were very proud of ourselves and celebrated our victory once back in Ludhiana. Wish us luck for future.
